The Engine
Known for their ruggedness and sophisticated technology, C 18 engines are fully electronically controlled. They are fuel efficient, durable, environmental friendly and allow more unsupervised uptime between major overhauls. In addition, the high-tech microprocessor driven control systems, computer controlled combustion, electronic monitoring and sensing devices make it one of the most reliable diesel engines. The engine comes with 6-cylinder, 18-litre displacement and a sturdy base frame.

The Package Generator
Caterpillar generator sets are packaged at the state-of-the-art packaging facility of Caterpillar Power India Private Limited (CPIPL), with load banks, twin beds, sound treated test cell and paralleling facility. They are completely configured and come with an acoustic enclosure. Their perfect packaging in a compact design enables easy installation, operation and maintenance.

The AC Generators
The AC generators are provided with AREP windings for better short circuit protection and higher motor starting capability. Load Adjustment Module (LAM) provides engine relief upon sudden block loading, improves load acceptance and recovery time.

Diagnostics and Monitoring
Caterpillar Electronic Modular Control Panel (EMCP) offers comprehensive engine and generator set monitoring, control and protection features, which eliminates the need for numerous switches, relays and meters. With Caterpillar add on modules, the generator set package can be monitored remotely through normal phone lines with a standard computer.

ADEM Controllers
ADEM (Advance Diesel Engine Management) controllers are designed to survive the harshest environment. The ADEM (ECM) is housed in an environmentally sealed die cast aluminum housing, which protects electronic components from moisture and dirt contamination. All wiring to the ECM are made at the two seventy pin connectors. The ECM is fuel cooled and capable of operating from 40°C to 120°C. The ECM's internal circuits are designed to withstand battery shorts and can operate in electrical noise environment up to 100 Volts/meter. ECM can withstand a vibration of 2g with a frequency from 18-500 Hz.

Noise Enclosure
CAT noise enclosure is a containerized design, sturdy and weather-resistant to ensure durability for all weather conditions. Made of non-igniting and self-extinguishing acoustic mineral wool of 50mm thick which is used for noise and thermal insulation in addition to resin bonding having a 96 kg/m3 density. These are specially designed for easy installations, maintenance of DG set and access for all tie points.
